Having this amazing collective of hope partnership coming together to make this a reality is something I’m incredibly thankful for. Damilola was a wonderful boy. He was a dreamer. A believer in hope - Richard Taylor OBE
I think Damilola would be happy seeing so many important organisations and authorities coming together to honour his memory like this. He always dreamed big dreams. To be a Doctor and to play for Manchester United. Like many young people he took great joy in believing nothing was impossible if he put his mind to it. His aspiration and his hope to change the world driven by desire to find a cure for his big sister Gbemi’s epilepsy.
I love the idea to celebrate his birth date of December 7th with a day of social action. To dedicate his legacy to the kind of ambitious and joyous young person he was turning into. The ambassadors of hope that will bring this website to life.
There are so many young people striving against whatever odds life throws at them to be successful. To have a day set aside when the entire youth sector and support organisations put aside their own challenges and individual workloads to join together and make a huge noise about young people is so heartwarming for me
